Semiconductor Equipment

Fiber optics are commonly used in the semiconductor industry for a variety of applications. The unique performance characteristics of fiber optics make it a natural choice for equipment and sensor interconnects, imaging, and illumination.

For equipment and sensor interconnects, fiber provides a very large amount of bandwidth transmitted at very high speeds, ensuring seamless communication. Fiber also provides a means of communicating that is uninhibited by EMI and RFI, ensuring communication does not get compromised due to any number of outside signals or processes happening simultaneously.

Fiber is also in the semiconductor segment as a post manufacturing inspection and analysis tool. During this process, automated machines utilize fiber optic imaging to view, inspect, analyze, and grade finished wafers and other semiconductor products. Fiber optic imaging technology allows automated equipment to gather and analyze a very large amount of information about the quality and expected performance of the finished part at very high rates of speed. This helps reduce manufacturing time and virtually eliminates any issues associated with human error and quality control.

Timbercon manufactures a wide variety of products to suit various applications within the semiconductor segment. We specialize in developing and manufacturing product solutions for even the most specialized and requirement intensive applications.
