Dual Wavelength Attenuated Armadillo Loopback

09/14/2007

Timbercon, Inc., a fiber optic products and services company providing a vast range of connectivity solutions, introduces its dual wavelength attenuated Armadillo loopback, designed to provide wavelength independent signal loss simulation across multiple applications.

The dual wavelength attenuated Armadillo loopback features uniform attenuation technology, enabling the same precision optical loss at both 1310nm and 1550nm. Unlike other products on the market the dual wavelength attenuated Armadillo loopback is available with any level of attenuation from 0dB to 20dB with a wide range of ruggedization and customization options available.

“The new dual wavelength attenuated Armadillo loopback provides users with more flexibility and freedom in their applications,” said Sean Gitt, director of marketing for Timbercon. “This increased functionality enables one product to be utilized in multiple applications with different light sources, wavelengths or both.”

In addition to uniform attenuation technology, all Timbercon dual wavelength Armadillo loopbacks feature a hard, protective shell that encases and protects the fiber portion of the loopback. In addition to being ergonomically designed for ease of use, the dual wavelength Armadillo eliminates problems with ferrule alignment, fiber breakage and performance degradation common with other products on the market.
