Lightwave Data Communication

A form of communication that utilizes Fiber optic technology. Pulses of Light transmitted over fiber will enable computer networks to communicate over greater distances at higher rates of speed with complete immunity to electrical Interference of any type. The conversion of electrical signals to lightwave signals is accomplished via transceivers containing special compound semiconductors made of gallium arsenide and indium phosphide. These two compounds have enabled the implementation of lightwave communication at extremely high Data rates.
