Fiber Optic Cabling

Fiber optic cabling consists of bundles of Cables that are used for Data transmission.

Fiber optic cables are capable of transmitting more data than traditional metal cables because they have an increased bandwidth. They are also better suited for digital and Light signal transmission. They are thinner and are more resistant to electromagnetic and radio Interference then metal cables. Fiber optic cabling is also less expensive to maintain then metal.

Fiber optic cables have been in use in the Telecommunications industry since the late 1970s.

There are two basic types of fiber optic cable, single Mode and multimode.
