Doubly Clad Fiber

Doubly clad fiber is a single mode fiber that has two cladding layers. These layers are of a different refractive index then that of the core of the fiber. The inner layer of cladding has the lowest refractive index. Doubly clad fiber results in a very low microbending loss.
