Strain Relief
A Method of controlling the bend of a fiber as it exits the connector. Available in various sized depending on the cable size. 900um, 1.6mm, 2.0mm, and 3.0mm, or even the Timbercon Armadillo cable (custom integrated boot shell design).
The strain relief is typically a conical shaped polymer material with a series of ridges or depressions which allow the fiber to bend, minimizes stress to the vulnerable connection point where the cabling meets the connector or plug.
