Optical Fiber

Optical fiber is fiber cable made of thin strands of glass over which data/light signals can be transmitted.

Optical fiber is made of a core, the thin glass center where data is transmitted, the cladding, the material surrounding the core that traps the light signal in the core, and the buffer coating, which is a protective coating applied onto the fiber.

Optical fiber has many advantages over other kinds of cable used for data transmission. These advantages include:
