TIMBERCON EXPANDS IN THE MIDWEST; CHICAGO OFFICE ADDS SECOND LOCATION

LAKE OSWEGO, OR - April 12, 2005 - Timbercon adds additional resources and a second location with the opening of Timbercon-Chicago, focusing primarily on ribbon fiber products for the telecommunications and networking industries.

Timbercon-Chicago was established to fulfill the growing requirements of Timbercon clients, while establishing a second location for future expansion. "The Chicago office will provide additional resources and geographic diversity to the company, allowing us to better serve our international customer base in a more timely manner," states Eric Meslow, President of Timbercon.

The Chicago office marks the first expansion done by the company outside of its corporate headquarters in Portland, OR. Timbercon-Chicago will be managed by Ms. Renee Raber, a sales and marketing veteran in the fiber optic industry. Under Ms. Raber's direction, Timbercon-Chicago will be charged with sales, customer service and business development in the telecommunications and networking industries.

Ms. Raber joins Timbercon after serving as Sales Manager/Product Manager for Stratos Lightwave, a leading supplier of fiber optic components and assemblies. Previously, Ms. Raber held Account Executive and Export Manager positions with USF Worldwide and Hoogwegt U.S. respectively.
