Carrier Signal
A continuous waveform (usually electrical) whose properties are capable of being modualted or
impressed with a second information carrying signal. The carrier itself conveys no information until
altered in some fashion, such as having its Amplitude changed (amplitude modulation), its frequency
changed (frequency modulation), or its phase changed (phased modulation). These changes convey
the information.
