General Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize the delivery of all assigned major programs and their activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of Timbercon.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change as needed.
  • Prepare quarterly account reviews for all major programs.
  • In conjunction with Business Development Managers and Inside Sales, work directly with customers to manager major programs and increase incremental business.
  • Serve as a backup to the Sales and engineering departments for all costing and quoting activities.
  • Draft detailed proposals in response to customers’ RFQs to include company value proposition and technical differentiation.
  • Coordinate internal engineering activities as required for costing process.
  • Proofread and check all quotes and proposals prior to submission to sales department.
  • Evaluate historical costing to ensure margin targets are maintained.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management.
  • Ensure on-time quoting is achieved and maintained.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and publishing quoting metrics to executive management.
  • Support VP of Engineering, as required, including production, documentation, and process improvements.
  • Modify and update AS9100C quality documents as required for process improvement.
  • Facilitate the flow of information between sales, engineering, materials and production departments.
  • In addition to strategic customer visits the Program Manager will attend industry trade shows as required.
  • Travel: Up to 30%.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fiber optic program, project, or engineering experience is required.
  • Engineering degree a plus.
  • 4 year college degree.
  • Ability to assist multiple internal and external customers at the same time.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Extremely high level of organization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be willing to relocate.
