Business Development Manager for Military and Aerospace Market

  Job Title: Business Development Manager, Military / Aerospace Market

  Reporting to: VP Sales & Marketing

  Location: Tualatin, Oregon

  General Responsibilities:
  • Build and develop relationships with key personnel in target companies within an established Mil/Aero market space
  • Work closely with military prime subcontract companies on existing and emerging projects and technologies
  • Maintain and grow relationships with customers using phone, email and face-to-face customer visits
  • Increase market share in the Mil/Aero market with extreme focus on hunting and landing new business resulting in incremental growth.
  • Identify new product potential as well as modifications to existing products needed to maintain Timbercon’s competitive edge in the marketspace
  • Travel to customer sites and tradeshows as required
  • Achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Customer Engineers & Technicians
  • Customer Purchasing Departments
  • Customer Management
  • Design Engineering Department
  • Marketing Department
  • Sales Operations Department
  • Outside Independent Sales Representatives.
  Skills and Qualifications:
  • 4 year Degree from an accredited school or
  • 10 years minimum component application sales experience in a high-technology industry
  • Proven sales success
  • Fiber optics experience is a plus
  • Customer-focused with emphasis on providing outstanding customer service.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Sales Force CRM is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 50% (max)
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and to manage time effectively
  • Able to handle pressure without letting it detract from the quality of work
  • Dependable and able to follow processes
  • A flexible, pro-active, “can-do” attitude
  • Self-motivated, creative, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Smart and presentable with an outgoing personality
